Assistant Professor of Art and Design (Game Design, Animation and ...

Duties: teach foundation courses in drawing or character design, and teach either Art Appreciation or Film Appreciation; able to supervise the maintenance of computer lab; be acutely familiar with software and hardware associated with both PC and MAC platforms; teach Game Design, Game Design Projects, 3-D Character modeling, environment building, simulations, rigging and animation, among a possibility of others with a 4/4 class load; write syllabi; teach practical exercises, as well as theory, critiques and grading while maintaining a professional, research, or exhibition regimen.

Qualifications: MA or MFA in either Game Design, Animation of Graphic Design with some professional and teaching experience or have a BFA with at least 5 years professional experience and two years teaching experience at an accredited university; must be proficient with the MAYA Entertainment Suite, Photoshop, Illustrator After Effects, Premiere and/or Final Cut; must have a familiarity with motion graphics as well as be familiar with principles, applications and criteria associated with visual effects in association with good art and design practice using applications in the Adobe Creative Master Suite; familiarity with game engine environments such as Unity 3D or UDK Education, Python, SDK, JavaScript or have certifications in Autodesk and/or Adobe will receive preferential consideration.
