LANSING, Mich. ? Gov. Rick Snyder today announced four appointments and two reappointments to the Board of Mechanical Rules.
Housed within the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, the 15-member board makes recommendations for mechanical code rules and issues mechanical contractors licenses to qualified applicants.
?These appointees are experienced professionals and outstanding choices for this board,? said Snyder.
Appointments:
Richard Dvorak, of Saginaw, recently retired as owner and vice president of operations for Freeland-based Answer Heating and Cooling, where he served for more than 35 years. Dvorak held various leadership positions with the Tri County Heating and Plumbing Association, Air Conditioning Contractors of America ? Michigan and Associated Builders and Contractors ? Saginaw Valley Chapter. He will represent unlimited service heating and refrigeration and replaces Raymond Coy.
Craig Howson, of Midland, is the industrial operations manager for Three Rivers Corp., where he has worked since 1986. Previously, he held the positions of mechanical division manager, mechanical project manager, senior mechanical estimator and mechanical trades craftsman. Howson is a licensed mechanical contractor and holds an associate degree from Delta College. He will represent refrigeration service and replaces Henry Bartram.
Matt Marsiglio, of St. Clair Shores, is operations manager for southeast Michigan-based Flame Heating, Cooling, Plumbing and Electrical. He is a licensed contractor, and has worked for both manufacturers and contractors in the heating, ventilation and air conditioning industry for the past 25 years. Marsiglio is also adjunct faculty at Macomb Community College, where he received an associate degree in climate control technology. He will represent limited service heating, refrigeration and air conditioning and replaces William Steele.
Bruce Seiler, of Roseville, is the lead fire protection designer with John E. Green Co., a position he has held since 2008. With the company, he also served as fire protection designer and mechanical detailer. Seiler attended Macomb Community College and Wayne State University. He will represent fire suppression and replaces Robert Jagenberg.
Reappointments:
Kevin Carden, of Dearborn, is the business representative for Pipefitters Local 636, a position he was elected to in 2001. Previously, Carden installed heating, cooling and industrial process piping systems for various licensed mechanical contractors in southeastern Michigan. He serves on numerous Pipefitters Local 636 trust fund committees and is chairman of the labor trustee joint apprenticeship committee. Carden will continue to represent organized labor representing mechanical trades.
Jerry Philo, of Northville, is an associate and senior project manager with Harley Ellis Devereaux, one of the nation?s largest professional service firms. Previously, he worked for Bechtel Power Corp., Giffels Associates, Rex Environmental and the SmithGroup. Philo is a member of the American Council of Engineering Companies of Michigan?s risk management committee and the Engineering Society of Detroit. He holds a bachelor?s degree in mechanical engineering from Michigan Technological University. Philo will continue to represent professional mechanical engineers.
Appointees will serve four-year terms that expire Oct. 1, 2016, and their appointments are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
